The power plant and boiler industries refer to it as thermal instrumentation, while those working in the chemical industry call it chemical instrumentation. Whatever, they’re all used for automatic control – what’s the difference? However, in terms of standards, I feel that the industry standards in the chemical sector are relatively high. Take the pressure transfer tubes used in pressure regulation systems as an example: in the petrochemical industry, compression fittings and TUBE connections are commonly used, whereas in desulfurization and denitrification processes, welded union fittings with a diameter of φ14 are typically utilized.
