For vessels at atmospheric pressure, it is sufficient to close the liquid-phase valve; for vessels under pressure, it is necessary to close the root valves for both the liquid and gas phases. When maintaining instruments, safety must come first!
Close both the upper and lower pressure-taking valves at the same time; either opening the upper pressure-relief valve or the lower drain valve will allow the instrument to return to zero. This will work as long as there are no foreign substances blocking the internal components. Even if only the positive-pressure valve is closed and the drain valve is opened, the instrument will still return to zero, but this approach does not comply with operational procedures and poses a risk. Also, are you sure you’re referring to a level gauge and not a boundary level gauge?
