Diagram of pH meter installation methods. The main ways in which industrial online pH/moisture meters are installed in field applications include the following: 1. Side-wall installation; 2. Top flange installation; 3. Pipeline installation; 4. Top-insertion installation; 5. Submersed installation; 6. Flow-through installation. Apart from maintenance, the way a pH meter is installed has a significant impact on its performance. What are the requirements regarding flow rate, temperature, and pressure when installing it on pipelines? How do people handle this? Learn more*
A pH meter and acid-base concentration are not the same; they should not be confused. A pH meter is installed on a pipeline, and typically a bypass pipe is used to facilitate sampling
I’ve learned something new: if the flow rate, temperature, and pressure are all appropriate, and the pipe is relatively thin such as DN100, is it still necessary to take samples by diverting the flow?
1. Direct pipeline installation is not recommended; fast-flowing water containing bubbles can lead to inaccurate measurement results; 2. Installing the pure water pipeline directly can lead to inaccurate measurements, premature failure of the sensor, and contamination of the water below the measurement point; it is recommended to use P34A/B flow devices, as there is no need to interrupt the water flow when replacing or calibrating the pH sensor ; 3. For environments where it is difficult to install pipelines, the P33 integrated flow device is recommended, as it has a flow regulation function ; 4. Install angular filters in water bodies containing fibrous materials or fine particles to prevent entanglement around the sensors ; 5. When measuring chemical media, sensors with corrosion-resistant glass and PPS housings must be selected ; 6. For pH measurement of high-temperature media, it is recommended to use a heat exchanger to cool the medium down to below 60°C before taking measurements, in order to obtain accurate data and ensure long-term durability ; 7. It is inconvenient to replace the pH sensor on-site; the 1220A split-type pH sensor is recommended, as no cables need to be replaced or rewired – only the chemical probe needs to be replaced ; 8. When installing in open channels, ponds, or rivers, it is recommended to use a floating-bed installation method, and integrated sensors should be chosen to ensure accurate data transmission ; Sensor bathymetric measurement ; 9. For sump tanks, wastewater tanks, and solution tanks, submersible installation is recommended; integrated sensors are advised to be used ; 10. For reaction vessels and material tanks, flange-type submersion installation is recommended, along with the use of integrated sensors ; 11. For material tanks and reaction vessels equipped with agitators, it is recommended to use internally fixed porous protective tubes ; 12. For biopharmaceuticals and autoclaving, high-temperature glass pH sensors are recommended, to be used in conjunction with pressure-resistant sleeves ; 13. The pH sensor will not function properly if installed horizontally or upside down; it must be installed vertically or at an angle of less than 15 degrees ; 14. pH signals are weak potential signals; the acquisition cables should be routed separately and must not be run in the same conduit as high-voltage cables ; 15. The sensor leads are specialized cables with ultra-high resistance and low noise; they must not be cut or connected without permission ; 16. For containers that are difficult to disassemble and maintain, or in hazardous locations, drainage measurement is recommended; for those where drainage measurement is not feasible, jet cleaning or compressed air flushing is recommended.
I’ve learned that there are requirements regarding pipe diameter in pipeline installation
The purpose of doing this is, first, to take into account the measurement environment; second, in case the medium leaks, closing the bypass valve allows for disassembly and maintenance without affecting production, with valves installed before and after the pH meter
We generally use a flow cell for installation
Are there any drawings and photos of the flow cell installation? Study*Study*:handshake
Sigh~~~ Oh little pH meter, why are you even more difficult to understand than the wild wolves in the Qinling Mountains? . . . . . . Wild boars do not understand digging at all. :P
I can’t tell you that; you need to go and find out for yourself.
