As indicated in the title, our factory’s finished product filling area is equipped with 5 production lines, all of which use Emerson mass flow meters together with EMERSON DL8000 batch controllers to achieve automatic filling; At that time, when setting up the system, it was not considered to use a batch controller for automatic document printing; instead, documents were printed after weighing the products ; As a result, first, the process is cumbersome, and second, the efficiency is low ; Since 2014, we have been testing mass flow meters and scale systems on a regular basis, and there is virtually no error between the data from the flow meters and that from the scales ; When the daily shipment volume is high, the inefficiency of this approach becomes apparent: there is only one scale for weighing raw materials upon arrival at the factory and for weighing finished products before they leave, forcing logistics vehicles to wait. Now, the factory is considering whether it is possible to use the EMERSON DL8000 batch controller to print loading documents for shipped finished products (such as the real-time tonnage loaded, the license plate number of the delivery vehicle, and information about the purchasing company), thereby eliminating the need for weighing and improving the efficiency of shipments. The situation you mentioned seems to lean towards network/software integration; I guess there aren’t many people who specialize in this. Do you mean that the batch controller should directly print the loading data for shipment, so that there is no need to weigh again to verify the amount loaded?
Has the factory agreed that it’s not necessary to get weight verification before shipping? If you agree, then ask the system integration vendor responsible for weighing before shipment to assist with the integration. I have some understanding of processes related to weighing before shipment; it seems that your requirement should be easy to meet (the scale can be replaced with a batch controller)
A host computer can be added; the batch controller sends data via 485 to the host computer, which then reads the cumulative value from the flow meter. In this way, orders can be placed directly on the host computer.
