The solution is to disconnect the pressure tapping tubes of the transmitter and introduce steam inside; however, this requires making a hole in the pipeline somewhere to allow water to drain out, and the valves before and after the flow meter must be closed. Another permanent solution is to install steam tracing pipes on the outer surface of the flow meter along with insulation, or to provide steam tracing and insulation on the pipeline ahead of the flow meter, thereby maintaining the temperature of the gas and preventing dirt from solidifying
