Newbie question: What do \"remote\" and \"teletransmission\" mean in automated instruments, and what is the difference between them? If you have a PID diagram, could you provide one? I’m mainly interested in the instruments and valves – I want to know how to tell whether they are set for manual or automatic operation and how to control them
Remote operation means that actuators such as valves can be controlled from the control room, while remote transmission involves sending signals related to pressure, level, flow rate, etc. at the site to the central control room.
I would like to ask how to identify the control points on a process flow diagram, and how to roughly estimate the number of such control points
It depends on how you understand control points; generally, they refer to the measurement points that can be viewed on the host computer, as well as the valves and devices that can be operated from the host computer. For these items, aside from the equipment (mainly pumps, motors, and the like), the common instrument measurement points as well as those of automatic control valves are easy to identify. A circle represents a local device that cannot be controlled remotely, while a circle enclosed in a frame denotes a remote-controlled instrument or an automatic control valve. To control the number of points, you need to look at the IO point table; with the PID diagram as well, haha – it’s exhausting.
