Why is a section inserted into the feed pipe of a kettle reboiler? Why must it exceed the height of the tube bundle? Can it be shortened? What is its purpose?
It would be best to include the relevant equipment procedures – is it to prevent liquid from flowing back? Ensure the heat exchanger is in a fully submerged state?
For kettle-type reboilers, level control is required; all heat exchange tubes must be submerged in the liquid. The feed pipe is inserted to prevent erosion of the tube bundles, and depressurized flashing may occur at the outlet of this insert pipe, which is why an insert pipe design is used
It may be related to the height of other equipment, in order to prevent backflow such that the liquid level drops below the tube bundle and causes dry burning; it may also serve to prevent blockage of the feed pipe.
The equipment location before feeding is higher than that of the reboiler, and the feeding force is provided by gravity
Ensure that all heat exchange tubes are fully submerged in the refrigerant
