The valve on the oxygen line is normally pneumatic, but there is also an oil-driven mechanism. Could someone please provide information on this type of valve? What effect will removing the hydraulic mechanism have on the valve?
In my personal understanding, it is intended to improve the reliability of valve operation; in the event that pneumatic power fails and the valve cannot operate, hydraulic power will step in immediately to ensure reliable valve operation.
1. Normally, when the pneumatic control valve is used to open and close, both sides of the hydraulic circuit remain connected, meaning they are not controlled by the hydraulic circuit; 2. When there is a problem with the air circuit and the valve cannot operate properly, the oil circuit is switched to; the hydraulic pump is pressed by hand to increase the oil pressure, thereby enabling the valve to function ; 3. Theoretically, the removal of the hydraulic circuit should not affect the operation of the valve, but it eliminates the possibility of controlling the valve in case of air circuit failures ; 4. Demolition is not recommended; regularly check the quality of the hydraulic oil to prevent situations such as a lack of oil or water ingress leading to emulsification ; If removal is necessary, protect the oil inlet and outlet ports; sticking in the hydraulic cylinder can also affect the operation of the valve.
Dismantling is not recommended; the hydraulic mechanism is essentially the manual part of the valve. Since the valves are quite large, manual mechanisms are generally not able to open them, which is why hydraulic mechanisms are used to open or close them
This is a hydraulic power control valve, along with the signal feedback switch on top of it. How can there be such a thing as pneumatic force? ?
Was this valve designed by the design institute? On this oxygen pipeline, there are valves that are operated by oil, and they are leaking oil severely; this doesn’t meet safety requirements. What if some oxygen leaks from the flanges and mixes with oil? That could cause a fire
This valve actuator uses pneumatics in automatic mode and hydraulics in manual mode (hydraulics is used because the torque required to open and close the valve is high). But in an oxygen-rich environment, hydraulic oil poses potential safety risks! Drain the hydraulic oil and thoroughly degrease the oil pipes and tank, treating this valve as if it had no manual control. For the above operations, it is necessary to confirm whether the actuator is pneumatic in automatic mode and hydraulic in manual mode, as I mentioned.
What you said makes perfect sense~! ! Normally, this valve should be pneumatic; in case of a failure, it switches to hydraulic operation… That oil tank represents a potential hazard. I think removing the entire hydraulic system should have no impact on the pneumatic system. I find degreasing to be too troublesome; it’s better to remove everything. What do you think? ?
