Actually, for some time now I’ve wanted to create a post about instrument manufacturers so that we can discuss and learn from each other. Of course, I would like to emphasize that I am not an instrument manufacturer; I have only spent a few years working in various petrochemical plants. It’s not my intention to criticize any particular brand – I just want to share the information about the manufacturers I know of and have used, so that we can all discuss them together. I also hope this will be useful as a reference for those who might need to participate in bidding processes in the future. Pressure transmitters: The most common brands seen in petrochemical plants are EJA and Rosemount; I’ve also used one or two domestic brands, though I can’t remember them exactly. I’ve heard of other brands such as Siemens, Honeywell, E+H... Whether they are domestic or imported, I hope fellow users can provide additional information below so we can learn together. The two brands mentioned earlier are quite well-known in China, and as long as one doesn’t end up with fake products, their maintenance requirements are relatively low. Thermometers: field thermometers, thermocouples, thermal resistors, temperature transmitters. I’ve used ones from Anhui Tiankang, as well as those from Zibo Feiyan Xingxian… The structure of these temperature instruments is simple; there are no issues with the materials used, the selection of the instruments, or the installation of the protective casings, and thus maintenance needs are minimal. Flow meters: differential pressure orifice plates, vortex flow meters, metal rotor flow meters, electromagnetic flow meters, target flow meters... Rosemount, EJA, Emerson. The accuracy of flow meters is related to the conditions of the process medium, but the quality of the instrument itself is also very important. Mass flow meters: Kolon, Emerson. Level gauges: Magnetic flip-type on-site level gauges, Dandong Tongbo, Shanghai Xingshen; float type, magnetostrictive type, buoy type – Dandong Naineng; radar level gauges. Control valves from E+H: Chongqing Chuanyi, Wuxi Yadi, Ningxia Wuzhong, Zhejiang Yueqing. For domestic control valves, the most common issue with the valve body is internal leakage; of course, this refers to whether it’s a problem related to the leakage rating chosen during design. Internal leakage may occur after the valve has been in use for some time, or it can be caused by damaged seals. Positioners: Fisher, Messemilan, Yamatake, Fox. These are all imported positioners; their prices are relatively high. Some of them are used only in critical applications, and their quality is unquestionable. I’ve used domestic products such as the solenoid valves from Changshu Changyi Instruments – the brand is Asco. I may have used other brands as well, but I can’t remember exactly. Please add more information. For pH meters and online analyzers, I haven’t had much experience with them; I’ve used one model from EJA. As for gas detectors, I’ve used products from Wuxi Shihe, Chengdu Xinhaoxu, and also one from a company in Beijing – I can’t recall its name. The domestic detectors are okay, though they sometimes experience zero-point drift. There are also foreign-made detectors, but I haven’t used any of those. These are just the ones I have come across; I earnestly ask for further explanations so that we can all make progress together.
Magnetic flap level gauges also include: Shanghai Tianmin; Kepler. Magnetostrictive level sensor: Xi’an Kangyu; Thermometers, thermal resistors: WIKA;

Kaifeng, Far East, and Jingda have also been used for electromagnetic flowmeters. I have also used Anshan and Renmin Electric for solenoid valves. Kroni and Xingshen are commonly used in float flowmeters. The pressure transmitters also used the relatively less common Shanghai Guanghua model. Xingshen has also been used for float level gauges.

For temperature, pressure, and flow measurement here, I use products from Yokogawa in Japan; for control valves, I use those from KWEI. Some of the gas analyzers are also from KWEI. As for the gas alarm devices, I can’t remember which company makes them – it seems to be a company from Dalian
