During the inspection of the instruments in the factory, experts identified the following issues that required correction: 1. The explosion-proof electric valve installed on the butyl acetate pipeline needed to be replaced with a pneumatic valve. The original electric valve had an explosion protection rating of IIB T4; however, it was found that butyl acetate only requires a IIa T2 rating. Is it really necessary to make changes? If so, that will mean 12 units. . . . I would appreciate it if experts could provide their opinions and reasoning; it would also help me to improve my knowledge. 2. Require SIS to set the alarm sounds for different devices to be different as well. Our plant uses HollySys SIS systems. I’ve only heard of categorizing alarm sounds according to alarm levels. The software can only be set up in this way; I’ve never heard that it’s necessary to press a button on the device. All 12 production workshops in my facility are connected to the SIS – do we really need 12 different sound signals? And even if there were, would the operators be able to distinguish them? ? ? If nothing changes, they’ll still make me pay fees to the factory. The boss above me doesn’t understand it at all, yet insists that I make changes. HollySys also said there are no changes to be made. . . I don’t see any such requirement in the safety instrument specifications either. Please ask the experts at Da Shen Men for some guidance
Regarding the sound issue, first of all, I have not used the SIS system; in the DCS system, sound software can be used to edit different sounds, but I’m not sure if that’s possible in SIS as well In DCS, it is possible to configure DO output alarms and connect various sound devices. Is this also possible in SIS?
Regarding the valve issue, do experts require improvements from an explosion-proof perspective, or from aspects such as response time or the ability to function in the event of a power loss? You might not have understood the expert’s intention since you didn’t attend the examination.

For the adjustment of valves on the instruments, consult the design institute regarding the standards; if the standards set by the design institute are too low, then the institute must provide the necessary specifications, otherwise adjustments should be made in accordance with the established standards. 2. Regarding sounds, many systems are capable of producing various alarm sounds, but these need to be set according to different levels; different levels can have different sounds assigned to them. 12 options is a bit too many; Emerson requires custom additions for this, while the central control system can handle it directly. But for these rectification requirements, the inspectors need to provide relevant standards. The experts conducting inspections these days aren’t very professional; it depends on whether your company has a strong safety and environmental management system and whether it knows how to handle such situations.
