There is a project workshop that uses a PLC system, and it is necessary to produce index tables, specification sheets, logic diagrams, etc. This is my first time working on PLC design – what information do I need to ask the instrument manufacturer regarding the PLC system?
Regarding the design of the PLC system, you need to request the following information from the instrument manufacturer: 1. The PLC model and specifications sheet. 2. Details on the various input and output modules. 3. Information on the communication protocols and interfaces supported. 4. Guidelines for hardware installation and wiring. 5. Software programming manuals and tools. 6. Compatibility details as well as information on any additional modules or accessories. 7. Technical support and service information. Ensuring that you have this basic information will facilitate a smoother design and implementation process. .
The logic diagram is provided by the design unit, while those who develop the PLC program need to provide the hardware configuration, the layout inside the cabinet, and the wiring diagrams within the cabinet.
What’s the use of finding instrument manufacturers? How is the control of the entire workshop organized? What does the PLC system control? What is the configuration of the control points? Isn’t that all determined through design? PLC manufacturers and instrument manufacturers provide the components as per the design. The index for this DCS is similar to the logic diagram in the specification sheet. It can’t be that the complete set of equipment in the workshop has been given to someone else, right?
