Great God of Seas and Rivers, could someone please explain the meaning of the various parameters in the torque calculation sheet for control valves? How to determine whether a valve is qualified based on its torque calculation sheet?
In the previous calculation sheet, I explained that the torque required for the actuator is roughly equal to the torque calculated for the valve; generally, a 30% margin is left
The actuator torque must be at least 1.5 times the maximum torque required by the valve, and it must not cause any damage to the valve!
Is it necessary to consider comparisons with other torques in addition to this one?
The specification indeed specifies a ratio of 1.5 times; apart from this torque, is it necessary to consider comparisons with other torques as well?
What does it mean to consider comparisons with other torques?
For example, how to determine that the maximum output torque of the actuator will not twist the valve stem?
This cannot be quantified by the owners or designers. Only the valve manufacturer knows. If data on this aspect for each valve is required, it can be requested from the valve manufacturer.
