Regarding the time constant of temperature instruments, how do we determine whether its value is appropriate?
The time constant is a parameter specific to the temperature-sensing element itself. After the element is placed in various types of enclosures, the manufacturer doesn’t conduct any heating tests, so who knows what the time constant of the temperature sensor actually is? So you should ignore the time constant and just choose randomly, without giving it any thought.

The time constant of a temperature instrument depends primarily on the time constant of the temperature-sensing element, which in turn is influenced by factors such as the material and thickness of the casing, as well as the volume of the temperature-sensing element. Once the temperature-sensing element is designed properly, its time constant is determined. From the perspective of usage selection, a temperature sensing element with the smallest possible time constant should be chosen when it is necessary to keep something unresolved.

That is indeed the case, but when each manufacturer selects the diameter of the tapered sleeve, the dimensions vary even if the calculations show that it is feasible; as a result, the response times also differ. When considering this time frame, there is no standard for a minimum allowable response time against which to make comparisons.
