I am extremely grateful for the guidance from all my colleagues. Both of these independent DCS systems are from Nanjing Keyuan, and they are used to communicate with the company’s production scheduling system.
This matter involves many aspects and requires various considerations. Please first confirm the following questions before we proceed with further discussion (as I have not used Keyuan’s system): 1. Can one computer run two OPC servers (or two OPC servers of different versions)? The answer to this question will determine whether it is possible to load configuration programs for two different DCS systems onto the same computer. 2. Can one OPC server load multiple OPC configuration files at the same time? Some OPC servers identify different DCS configuration versions by loading different configuration files. 3. Does the OPC server have the capability for independent configuration programming? In other words, can OPC be configured independently to combine two completely separate hardware setups into one single hardware setup, thereby enabling simultaneous reading from the data provided by both DCS systems? These three methods essentially cover all the ways in which OPC servers are implemented in the market today. If Keyuan’s system, in terms of OPC, only allows one configuration file to be loaded on one computer, does not support independent programming and configuration, and does not permit multiple instances of the same software to run on one computer, then it can basically be ruled out (of course, the possibility of using different usernames to access the same OPC server could also be considered). ) 4. Are there any conflicts regarding sensitive permissions between the attributes of the OPCserver station and those of the engineer station? That’s basically it. Technical analyses of non-specialized manufacturers shared online are mostly incomplete and superficial; only the official representatives of the manufacturers have in-depth knowledge.
