Continuing with the issue from the previous two days: the maximum flow rate is 5 tons, the rated flow rate is 10 tons, the range of the differential pressure transmitter is 0–25 kPa with an internal setting of 10 kPa. The current actual flow rate is 13 tons. I would like to know if this can be adjusted using the transmitter The orifice plate still needs to be replaced

Is the differential pressure value of the differential pressure transmitter outside its range? If not, then there’s definitely no problem
1. First, the setting of the maximum range is unreasonable. The process parameters set are simply ridiculous; I remember saying a few days ago that the normal value was 3 and the maximum value 5. Now, however, the normal value is 13. It’s clear that the orifice plates chosen earlier were not suitable, or they exceeded the specified requirements, with their precision and uncertainty far exceeding acceptable levels. 2. The on-site transmitter and the indoor setup must be consistent; can accurate measurements be taken if they are not? 3. Regarding your question, it can be adjusted through the transmitter, but the problems that arise are as mentioned in point 1. It is recommended to recalculate; if it no longer meets the specification requirements, it is suggested that the process team provide more accurate parameters for recalculation and selection.
The range of the differential pressure transmitter can be increased; the flow rate can be calculated by using the formulas provided in the orifice plate calculation sheet with the increased range
The modulator transmitter is useless; it needs to be recalculated
The flow rate has now exceeded the rated value, so the orifice plate needs to be recalculated. If precise measurement is required, the orifice plate needs to be recalculated; as long as a certain number is available and the orifice plate is safe at that flow rate, the range of the transmitter can be increased accordingly.

The orifice plates must be recalculated; the size of each opening and its angle are determined through calculations. Otherwise, the measurements obtained will not be accurate at all, and they cannot even be used as a reference. Transmitters are no longer important; if the original measuring device is inaccurate, then no matter how high the transmitter’s precision is, it’s of no use – it only serves to increase the error. Therefore, the orifice plate must be replaced; the transmitter can continue to be used by adjusting its range.
