Which expert has used the explosion-proof display of the CT5? We are carrying out technical upgrades to our tank area. The level gauges used before were of the top-mounted magnetic flap type, which were used to detect the liquid level; the upper layer contained water while the lower layer contained carbon disulfide. Since the company is located in the north, ice forms in the upper layer during winter, which freezes the probe of the magnetic flap gauge and results in inaccurate level readings. I currently want to modify a magnetostrictive level gauge, but this would result in no on-site display; therefore, I plan to install an LED screen at the site to use as an on-site level indicator. I can’t find a manufacturer that produces LED screens of the CT5 level. I hope everyone can recommend a manufacturer or suggest other ways to solve my problem
I don’t understand this. All I know is that our company’s tank areas use radar level gauges; P
Other freezes can’t be measured either!
One level gauge is definitely not enough; it is likely necessary to have a contact-type level switch for the signal of the emergency shut-off valve, as well as an on-site float level gauge (with heating).
Magnetic flip plates can be insulated; if it freezes, won’t magnetostriction prevent freezing? If the explosion-proof requirements of the secondary meter itself cannot be met, simply install an explosion-proof box with a viewing window.
It’s fine if magnetostrictive cooling is used on the top; but what about heating the water inside the tank with magnetic flap heating? It is said that explosion-proof boxes with windows, exceeding certain specifications, cannot obtain CT5 certification
This one seems a bit expensive; it’s better to install it in an explosion-proof cabinet. The Siemens TP1200 can be used in explosion-proof environments
Oh, you mean the whole tank is frozen solid; in that case, it really doesn’t help to have only heating on the outside. But the same is true for magnetostriction – isn’t there a risk that the float and the rod will freeze together and become immobile? I even think that if the upper layer of water freezes, then that interface won’t move at all, right? I don’t think there’s any fundamental difference from magnetic flip switches. Do we still need to find a way to provide heat tracing and insulation for the tank?
