In section \"11.3 Switching Valves\" of HG/T20507, it is stated that \"8 Fire valves should be used in applications with fire protection requirements.\" What exactly are these applications with fire protection requirements? Is a liquefied hydrocarbon tank farm considered a site with fire protection requirements? Is it required to install a fire damper alongside the installed emergency shut-off valve? I would appreciate any advice from those who have experience with this design. Thank you!

Personally, I believe that all root cut-off valves in storage areas where flammable liquids or gases are stored should be equipped with fire dampers and protective covers. Additionally, the valves should have local control levers placed outside the tank area, in a location that facilitates easy operation; this allows for immediate shutdown in the event of a minor fire, limited to very small-scale fires only. If there are large fire valves for which a fire resistance time is required, it is necessary to be able to shut off the main valve in a timely manner to prevent the fire from spreading.
