Will the heat transfer oil inside the thermometer sleeve become ineffective? Heat transfer oil was poured inside the thermometer sleeve of the reaction kettle, and it was used for a year or two. Recently, it was noticed that the temperature reading was off by 2 degrees – 200 degrees would read as 198. Replacing the thermistor resolved the issue, and when the replaced thermistor was sent to a calibration laboratory for testing, it was found to be normal as well. I really can’t figure it out. Is it due to this heat transfer oil? Does the heat transfer oil need to be replaced regularly?
When the temperature of the heat source input remains constant, whether the heat transfer oil functions properly or not, won’t the temperature still be transmitted to the temperature sensor without any loss? ... Since the thermometer passed the quality checks, the phenomenon you described – a deviation of 2°C downward – is likely problematic. If the heat transfer oil becomes ineffective, the heat transfer speed may slow down, resulting in significant delays; however, this would cause a temperature drop of 2°C. After thinking it over, I believe it’s not possible to overcome this issue. . . :lol
Unless..., this thermistor exhibits such a strange behavior: there is no impact from a short-term temperature increase, but over time it suffers from temperature drift. Yet it’s just a thermistor, merely a resistor – it can’t be that unstable, right?
Is it the heat loss caused by the heat transfer oil and convection in the upper part?
What’s a thermal resistor? Is it expensive? Is it really necessary to go through all this trouble? It still needs to be tested. In this case, it is usually humidity that causes the short-circuit resistance value to decrease.
The customer used mineral oil and lubricant; is it necessary to replace it with silicone oil?
