Pressure measurement at the outlet of the secondary combustion chamber in the rotary kiln used for incinerating hazardous waste: A differential pressure transmitter from Chongqing Chuanyi was selected for use on-site, with a range of 0~0.2 MPa (for the EPC project carried out by the contracting party). The pressure conduit is connected to the positive pressure side of the transmitter, while the negative pressure side is connected to the atmosphere. The transmitter’s range was set to -250~250 Pa; however, since it was put into operation, it has been showing a positive pressure value of around 100 Pa. Please advise on how this issue should be resolved
1. “Range 0~0.2MPa ...... Transmitter (operating) range setting: -250~250Pa”? Really, is that how you use the gauge? Could it be that the unit was written incorrectly? 0.2 MPa = 200,000 Pa. 200,000 ÷ 250 = 800. If the unit was indeed written wrong, then you would have to scale down the value by 800 times when using the gauge, haha. You’re really good at scaling things down, aren’t you? :P 2. I guess the unit was still written incorrectly. The meter is fine; what’s the reading? The process pressure is just that value, so what needs to be “handled”? ........
The wrong gauge was selected; as a result, the range ratio is too large. An differential pressure gauge such as the EJA120 or PDS493 should be used!
The range is significantly larger. Your options are the Yokogawa EJA120 differential pressure transmitter, or the Rosemount 3051CD0 series – both are fine
Shouldn’t we swap the positions of the two pressure sensing holes and check the values?
