Please advise on the safety checks regarding instruments

As the title suggests, I used to work on instrument maintenance. Recently I moved to a new factory where I am now fully responsible for all aspects related to instruments. I would like to ask what exactly is checked during the safety inspections related to instruments – things like records and maintenance logs. Do you have any templates for these? Back at my previous workplace, we just managed to get things running without any proper systems in place; it’s as if I’m starting from scratch here, and I’m not sure what to do at first. I earnestly ask for help from those who are more experienced, so that I can at least meet the inspection requirements
