The manager asked me to look at the piping diagram and then check the manufacturer’s information for the control valve (see the figure below), and to determine from that information which flow direction is applicable. What does this mean? As a newbie, I don’t understand the purpose of doing this; could everyone take a look?

One locator is installed on the inlet side, and one on the outlet side.
These two pictures are the same. Control valves are categorized as flow-open or flow-close; generally, the flow-open type is more common. A special case involves using a flow gate, such as in high-pressure situations. Regarding the post below by the original poster, in fact, for control valves, it is possible to adjust the direction whether it is through the upper valve cover, the actuator, or the solenoid valve
