Where should the emergency shut-off valve in a flammable liquid storage area be installed to be in the correct position? Thank you.
Flammable liquids at room temperature can be stored outside the fire wall, in the pump area； Liquefied hydrocarbons are placed at the container feed inlet. (I answered based on memory, without checking the standards.)
At the base of the oil tank, but the cut-off valve must be equipped with an on-site operation button outside the fire protection area
Located behind the bottom valve of the tank, with switching capability available within the DCS.
It needs to be installed for both import and export, right? It is only the import case that has distance requirements, as stated in Section 6.4.1 of the Petrochemical Regulations
I’ve never seen any installed outside the cofferdam.
Fire Protection Design Code for Petrochemical Enterprises GB50160-2008 (2018 edition) 7.2.15 For equipment handling liquefied hydrocarbons and flammable liquids with an operating temperature equal to or above their auto-ignition point, a shut-off valve shall be installed on the pipeline leading from the equipment to the pump, near the base of the equipment. When the volume of the equipment exceeds 40 m3 and the distance between it and the pump is less than 15 m, such shut-off valve shall be a remotely operated valve with a manual function; the control button for this remotely operated valve shall be located at a distance of no less than 15 m from the pump.
The cut-off valve is located at the base of the tank, and the button for the emergency switch should be placed outside the tank area enclosure to enable operation in emergency situations.
Settings are required for both import and export; they are generally placed within the cofferdam
