My understanding is as follows: the first type is a solid wire, the common kind that consists of a single copper wire. On instruments, it is generally used with a 220V power supply and a ground connection. The second type consists of multiple copper wires wrapped together. Each copper wire is relatively thick. I rarely see them used on instruments anyway. Chapter 5 deals with ordinary instrument signal wires (), which are used between the instruments and the cabinet. The sixth type is one with a thinner wire than the fifth type (a single copper wire), used for connecting cabinets.
