Option 1 for the installation location of the pressure gauge elbow: Pipeline – sampling pipe – valve – elbow – pressure gauge. Option 2: Pipeline – elbow – valve – transition pipe – pressure gauge. Are there any standards for this? I always use Option 1
The installation of pressure gauges should comply with the requirements of the medium’s properties and process parameters, and the installation location should be in a position free from significant vibrations. The range should be between 1.5 and 2 times the operating pressure.
The graph showing that for corrosive media, ρ1＜ρ2, is incorrect; think about it.
For media at high temperatures, Scheme 2 is appropriate; since the temperature of the condensate inside the valve is low, leakage is significantly reduced, which in effect extends the valve’s service life.
I was wondering if I could ask: for some pressure gauges/transmitters, a root valve and a secondary valve are used, while for others only a root valve is needed to connect them directly to the pressure gauge. What is the basis for choosing between these two approaches? Is it based on distance or some other reason?
