I have a project under way in which the steam system includes numerous water conveyors; each trap has two set points for the water level, and it is necessary to measure these two levels using level switches. For similar projects in the past, the Magneteol B40 level switch was used, but this level switch required two valves to be installed in connection with the steam trap. Considering the cost of the two high-pressure valves and the fact that the movable components inside the B40 switch may result in poor reliability, I am now wondering whether it would be possible to replace this level switch with a fork-type switch that can be directly threaded onto the steam trap. Can a threaded connection level switch be used directly in such high-temperature and high-pressure environments (with the strainer designed for a pressure of 8 MPa and 300°C)? Also, is the reliability of the tuning fork level switch better than that of traditional float-type switches?
Without advertising, I’m sorry to the world..... Therefore, I’ll make it known: a differential pressure sensor can be used in such and such ways. {:2_42:}
What the heck? Isn’t a double-flange differential pressure level gauge sufficient for this task? In DCS, just set 2 as high readings and 2 as low readings. That’s it.
If they’re even willing to skip high-pressure valves, how can you expect them to buy transmitters?
High-pressure systems cannot use threaded connections
1. Under high temperature and pressure, the density of water is not 1; it’s around 0.1 – go and check that. 2. Double flanges are required; you need to think ahead about how to deal with the significant fluctuations in the density of liquid water throughout the entire operation process, from normal temperature and pressure to high temperature and pressure, and then back again How much effort and money do you have to put in to deal with it? Can your processing capability achieve an error of less than a few centimeters? 3. When you can think things through properly and appropriately, then you’re an expert; you’ll be able to enjoy working with instruments in a seamless and exhilarating way, rather than having the instruments control you to the point where your thighs and buttocks hurt... {:2_42:} {:2_45:} {:2_36:}
You’re talking nonsense again. :Lol the higher the pressure, the safer and more reliable the threaded connection is. . . For example, 100 MPa systems, 260 MPa systems, 1000 MPa systems...... Do you know why? You probably haven’t seen high-voltage equipment or high-voltage systems before, right? There’s a lot of pressure; I’m afraid it might scare you, so let’s talk about something less intense. Have you seen an excavator before? The hydraulic system of excavators typically operates at a pressure of around 35 MPa. Go and inquire to see if there is any unit equipped with flange-based pressure measurement..........
Mainly, the height of this strainer itself is only about 200 millimeters, and the operating pressure is around 6–7 MPa; it will be difficult to select a suitable transmitter using the differential pressure method
