Which cards in DCS require redundant configuration? Are the instrument measurement values (feedback values) in all control loops the AI cards, and the control commands for the control valves the AO cards?
Whether it is redundant depends on the security importance of the control point; in my case, none of them are redundant.
Whether it is redundant or not depends not on the type of point, but on the security requirements. Whenever dangerous media are involved, whether it’s reaction vessels or pressure vessels and the like, it’s best to have redundancy. For things like utility systems, however, redundancy isn’t necessary; they can be used directly. Redundancy is primarily aimed at ensuring that a failure of a certain component does not affect the system. For devices that already have no impact on the system, it doesn’t matter whether redundancy is implemented or not……

In other words, it comes down to the level of importance; generally, all AO elements are redundant. For AI elements, those with C, Z, or S in their functions are redundant, while DI elements with S are redundant as well. DO elements, on the other hand, are not redundant. . You can take a look at it
If it only displays values, redundancy is generally not necessary; for critical components, redundant cards are required. Some terminal boards also stipulate that dual-card redundancy is mandatory
If you have plenty of money to spend, triple redundancy is totally feasible.
