As title: The Tricon card was replaced online when it malfunctioned; PASS—Active—Completed. So I have this question: for example, suppose an AO card is not faulty and we just need to replace it with a new one. So after inserting a card of the same model into the 1:1 redundant slot and passing the check, is the next step to wait for the scheduled switch-over before removing the old card? Are there any other methods? A beginner seeking advice here
No, TRICON does not have a forced soft switch function like some DCS redundant cards.
The ICS card holder was replaced a long time ago; it is possible to force a switch of the card holder by mechanically fixing a clip to it. So it’s not known whether Kangjisen has such a function
Can’t you just pull out the active card directly?
【Reply to Floor 4】 I think the same way; we can only try this again when there’s a suitable opportunity. So check the forum to see if any peers have done it.
Since it is a redundant AO card, removing the one that is in use will automatically switch to the backup card. However, this should not be done during normal production, as no one wants to take responsibility if the switch fails and causes a production accident. Forcing a switch is a foolproof method to do during shutdown.
After confirming with the manufacturer and conducting production checks, the risk is assessed as low; procedures can be completed and then consideration can be given to proceeding. Be sure to conduct relevant tests under safe conditions such as when parking, in order to gain experience
The TRICON maintenance manual strictly prohibits removing the ACTIVE card.
