1. Working principle of solenoid valves: A solenoid valve functions like a sealed chamber, with each of its holes connected to different oil pipes. A piston is located in the middle of this chamber, and there is an electromagnet on each side. By controlling the movement of the valve body, we can make the magnetic coil either attract something or open/close the oil discharge holes. The oil inlet is usually open. The pressure oil enters different drain pipes, and then uses the oil pressure to push the piston of the cylinder. The piston then drives the piston rod, which in turn drives the mechanical mechanism. In this way, mechanical motion is controlled by regulating the current to the electromagnet. 2. Precautions for installing solenoid valves: 1. During installation, ensure that the arrow on the valve body is in line with the flow direction of the medium. It must not be installed in areas where water drips or splashes directly onto it. The solenoid valve should be installed vertically upward ; 2. The solenoid valve must be able to operate properly within a voltage range that fluctuates by 15%-10% of the rated voltage ; 3. After the solenoid valve is installed, there must be no reverse pressure difference in the pipeline. It also needs to be powered on several times until it reaches the appropriate temperature before it can be used officially ; 4. The pipes should be thoroughly cleaned before installing the solenoid valve. The medium introduced should be free of impurities. Filter installed before the valve ; 5. When the solenoid valve fails or needs to be cleaned, a bypass device should be installed to ensure the continued operation of the system. 3. Faults of solenoid valves and troubleshooting methods1) The solenoid valve does not work after being powered on: Check whether the power wiring is faulty → Reconnect the wires and connectors. Check if the power voltage is within the acceptable range → Adjust it to the proper range. Check if the coil has come unseated → Resolder it. For explosion-proof electric butterfly valves, if the coil is short-circuited, replace the coil. If the operating pressure difference is inappropriate, adjust it or replace it with a suitable solenoid valve. If the fluid temperature is too high, replace it with a suitable solenoid valve. If impurities cause the main valve element and the moving core of the solenoid valve to get stuck, clean them; if the seals are damaged, replace them and install a filter. If the liquid viscosity is too high, the operating frequency is too high, or the valve’s lifespan has expired, replace it.
2) The solenoid valve cannot close: If the seals of the main valve element or the moving core are damaged, replace those seals. If the fluid temperature or viscosity is too high, replace it with a suitable solenoid valve. If impurities have entered the valve element or moving core, clean them. If the spring has reached the end of its lifespan or is deformed, replace it. If the throttle holes or balance holes are blocked, clean them promptly. If the operating frequency is too high or the valve’s lifespan has expired, choose a different product or upgrade it.
3) Other situations: Internal leakage → Check whether the seals are damaged or if the springs are improperly installed. External leakage → Loose connections or damaged seals → Tighten the screws or replace the seals. Noise when powered on → The fasteners on the valve may be loose; tighten them. The voltage fluctuation is outside the acceptable range; adjust the voltage accordingly. If there are impurities or unevenness on the core mating surface, clean it promptly or replace it.
