Installation of Siemens valve positioners ① Installation process 1. Observe the valve’s travel; use a travel pointer set at 50%. 2. Check whether the feedback rod of the valve positioner is horizontal. 3. Observe the indicator values of the valve positioner. 2. Tuning process. 1. Press the mode button for 5 seconds to enter the configuration mode. 2. Select linear or rotary motion in the first option. Way/Turm 3. Choose 9 or 33 in the second option; select 90 when the travel distance is greater than 20 mm, and 33 when it is less than 20 mm. 4. Go directly to the seventh item, and in that item select the forward or reverse action mode for the valve actuator. Positive action FALL, negative action rise. 5. Jump directly to item 38 (which is the same as item 7). 6. Go to item 39 and select (uP do). 7. Return to item 4 for initialization; hold the “+” button for 5 seconds, and the system will carry out automatic initialization and debugging. 8. Wait for about 8-10 minutes; the system will be ready after debugging. 9. Press the mode button for more than 5 seconds to return to operating mode (when \"MAN\" appears). 10. Press the mode button once to return to automatic operating mode. 11. OK, end. ② Installation instructions: The valve positioner is an essential accessory in pneumatic valves used for regulating flow rate. It is generally used in conjunction with pneumatic actuators, and by receiving 4-20mA signals from controllers or control systems, it controls the degree of opening of the valve, thereby enabling control over various process parameters of the fluid flowing through the pipeline. 1. The height (H) of the shaft in general pneumatic actuators can be 20, 30, or 50 mm. Once the height of the actuator shaft is determined, the bracket can be assembled. 2. Use hex head bolts to connect the bracket to the bracket of the actuator; the hole diameter on the bracket of the actuator is 6 mm, so appropriate screws must be used. To prevent the screws from loosening due to vibrations and other factors, spring washers or other methods are used for installation. The installation direction of the support varies depending on the operating conditions; it is installed in a direction in which the piping of the actuator and the piping of the valve positioner are aligned. 3. Align the rotational position of the actuator shaft with the starting position, namely the 0% opening position. When the actuator is a single-acting cylinder using a spring, if no air pressure is applied, the cylinder shaft always returns to the starting point, making it easy to confirm. When it is a double-acting cylinder, refer to the cylinder manual to determine whether it rotates clockwise or counterclockwise, or judge by the rotation direction of the cylinder shaft when compressed air is supplied. 4. After setting the fork rod in place, tighten the fixing screw beneath it in a clockwise direction. Install the Samson valve positioner on the bracket. When placed above the bracket, the fixing pin beneath the main shaft aligns with the central hole above the forked rod, while the connecting rod on the main shaft feedback rod is inserted into the slot of the forked rod. This is mainly to align the axis of the valve actuator’s spindle with the axis of the cylinder. If they are not aligned, a loading force is generated on the spindle of the valve actuator, which affects the internal structure of the product; therefore, it is necessary to align the centers properly. 5. Fix the Samson valve positioner and bracket using hex bolts and washers. When tightening the bolts, do not tighten them all at once; instead, tighten the 4 bolts to a certain extent first, verify the correct position of the valve positioner, and then tighten all 4 bolts. Among the auxiliary devices of control valves, the most important and practical component is the valve positioner. The valve positioner is one of the key accessories for control valves. It possesses valve positioning functionality, which not only overcomes the frictional forces on the valve stem but also eliminates the unbalanced forces resulting from changes in medium pressure. This enables the valve to respond quickly to the control signals generated by the regulator, allowing for rapid positioning of the control valve and thereby improving its regulation quality. With the development of smart meter technology, the widespread application of intelligent and electronic technologies in traditional meters has **improved the functions and performance of these meters. Check whether the value is 50%; if not, manually adjust the knob to get the value as close to 50% as possible.
