The benefits for electrical and instrumentation staff in our factory are the same. Most of the work done by electricians can be done by instrument technicians, but not vice versa.
Under the same conditions, it’s basically the same; there are differences depending on the department and position
The previous employer offered better benefits in terms of instrumentation compared to electrical-related positions, while the current employer offers similar conditions. My previous employer was in the large-scale chemical industry, where instruments played a more important role compared to electrical systems, and the company placed considerable emphasis on instrumentation.
There are no dedicated instrument operators, so there is no issue of which group is paid more or less.
