There is a steam pipeline project, and there are currently two issues related to the requirements for the straight sections before and after the device: 1) A stop valve is installed in front of the vortex flow meter; what is the required length of the straight section between the flow meter and the stop valve? 2): A steam-water separator is installed in front of the vortex flow meter. What is the required straight pipe section length between the flow meter and the steam-water separator? Please, experts, answer this question. Thank you so much
Generally, 10 in front and 5 behind is sufficient; with a stop valve, it can be extended appropriately – 2.0 times is enough!
Is the longer the straight section ahead, the better? ? Does the improvement in accuracy become less significant beyond a certain length? ?
Right. 20 times is already a fairly long duration; the longer the time period, the better, but the effect becomes less noticeable.
Jiangsu Weiyi’s vortex flow meters require almost no straight pipe section; please consult them directly for details. For vortex flowmeters from other manufacturers, it is recommended to place them in the top 10 and bottom 5; Emerson’s spiral-type vortex flowmeters can be placed in the top 5 and bottom 3. However, the vortex flow meters produced by Jiangsu Weiyi are quite expensive~~
