For measuring liquids that contain a slight amount of solid particles, what are some good alternatives to vortex flowmeters?
The medium has poor electrical conductivity, so electromagnetic applications are not possible
Wedge flow meter or other differential pressure types
Could trace solids in the differential pressure medium clog the pressure guide tube?
For wedge flow meters, a double-flange measurement setup is an excellent choice; we use this type for all our sludge handling
Recommendation: Use a venturi + diaphragm flange type differential pressure transmitter for measurement. If the medium is very dirty and solids tend to settle, flushing water can be added to the pressure tapping pipe or a flushing ring can be used with the transmitter.
A wedge flow meter is fully suitable for this type of operating condition
Agree with the above statement; a wedge-type flow meter with double flanges should be used
If conditions permit, ultrasound can be used.
