The company has a Yokogawa split-type vortex flow meter used for measuring high-pressure steam. After it was installed, flow readings were displayed; however, there was no steam in the pipeline and no vibrations as well. When checking the frequency with the meter’s display, a value of around 50HZ was detected. Replacing the converter and the dedicated connection cable did not solve the problem, nor did grounding the sensor’s casing. Has anyone encountered this issue? Is it possible that the sensor is damaged?
Generally, new flowmeters do not take sensor failures into account; it is likely that the voltage setting for the frequency is too low. There should be a parameter that can be adjusted for this purpose, and it would be advisable to consult the technical staff at Yokogawa for guidance on making the necessary adjustments
Hello, it is necessary to consider whether there is any interference from the power supply at the site; it is best to implement power isolation. Also, check whether there are any powerful motors or sources of vibration near where the meter is installed. The quality of Yokogawa’s meters should make them less likely to get damaged

I tried adding a power isolation module today, but it didn’t work either; it’s not a power issue. I asked the manufacturer, and they said there might be interference from empty tubes in the pipeline

It’s a normal phenomenon; performing small-signal clipping will suffice
