In the installation of flow meters, what diameters are being compared when it comes to the diameter ratio?
What kind of flow meters? The diameter ratios represented by different types of flow meters vary
It seems it shouldn’t be interpreted as a diameter ratio. What we often see is a value denoted as D; this D refers to the internal diameter of the flow meter. The value 10D, for example, indicates that the length of the straight sections before and after the flow meter should be at least 10 times the diameter of the flow meter.

It is the ratio of the pipe diameter to the length of the straight sections before and after the flow meter

What was mentioned earlier refers to the requirements regarding the length of the straight sections of pipe before and after the flow meter is installed; this length is usually a multiple of the pipe diameter. The term \"diameter ratio\" is not standard, as it might be misinterpreted as a pore size ratio.
