I. Measurement failures caused by process-related reasons: The most common one is the occurrence of two-phase flow in the fluid being measured. In the case of liquid measurement, the issues that lead to faults and alarms in mass flow meters are mainly due to the liquid being measured not filling the flow meter’s measuring tube, gas accumulating in the upper part of the measuring tube, or solid impurities entering the measuring tube and getting stuck there. Solution: Ensure that the fluid measured by the mass flow meter flows in one direction by means such as adjusting the gas emission and installation method, and take measures to remove solid impurities from within the measurement tube. II. Failures of the mass flow meter caused by damage to the meter’s components themselves: The most common issues that occur during use are short circuits or signal loss, resulting from water entering the meter’s wiring box or loose connections. Solution: In addition to strict standards for on-site installation, thorough regular inspections and maintenance are also necessary to prevent more serious problems such as the burnout of sensor coils due to delayed repairs. III. Damaged transmitter circuit board: The most common faults involve damage to the transmitter’s power supply board and signal processing/output board. Solution: In addition to strictly standardizing the wiring of cable signals, it is also necessary to implement proper lightning protection and grounding measures. An independent voltage stabilizing power supply should be used to ensure the reliability of the power supply, thereby preventing device damage caused by large fluctuations in voltage. In the split-type mass flow meter, poor sealing of the signal cable connection tube allowed rainwater to seep into the sensor, causing the drive coil to burn out.
