Yesterday we explained to you the installation method for the Rosemount 644 temperature transmitter with a threaded sensor. However, in actual applications, the Rosemount 644 temperature transmitter also comes with a DIN plate sensor – so how is that one installed? Today, we will specifically go over the installation steps for the Rosemount 644 temperature transmitter with a DIN panel sensor. 1. Install the heat sleeve on the wall of the pipe or process vessel. Before applying process pressure, the heat sleeve should be installed and tightened. 2. Check the position of the transmitter fault mode switch. 3. Assemble the transmitter onto the sensor. Push the transmitter mounting screw through the sensor mounting plate. 4. Wire from the sensor to the transmitter. 5. Insert the transmitter-sensor assembly into the junction box. Turn the transmitter mounting screws into the mounting holes of the junction box. Screw the threaded connector of the extension piece onto the housing in order to assemble the extension piece onto the junction box. Insert the component into the heat sleeve and tighten the threaded connection. 6. If cable seals are used for the power supply connections, please connect the cable seals properly to the inlet of the enclosure conduit. 7. Insert the leads of the shielded cable into the junction box through the conduit entrance. 8. Connect the shielded cable leads to the power terminals of the transmitter. Avoid contact with the sensor leads and sensor connectors. Connect and tighten the cable seal. 9. Install and tighten the junction box cover. This is an integrated temperature transmitter, which is assembled into a single unit by the manufacturer before leaving the factory, with the probe rod ensuring it reaches the bottom of the protective sleeve. Once the customer receives the product, there is no need to open it; the sleeve is installed on the equipment using threads or flanges, and then the wiring is connected. Previously, Romon also had a factory in Germany that produced temperature sensors; however, as its business direction changed, that factory was sold. This is why Romon can offer products in both DIN-style and American-standard styles. The DIN-style products are more slender and are widely used in Germany’s chemical and fine chemical industries, where intrinsically safe designs are preferred ； The American standard features a more robust design; the U.S. refining industry is superior, and only explosion protection is accepted. As I understand it, Romon now only manufactures temperature transmitters; it no longer produces sensors itself. The sensors and enclosures are basically manufactured by third parties
