I’m seeking help from fellow sailors: The flow meters used in our plant for chlorine pipelines are not accurate at all. Do any of you have flow meters that can provide accurate readings for chlorine flow, suitable for DN40 pipelines?
At the very least, the operating conditions should be clearly specified, including parameters such as temperature, pressure, and flow rate. What type of flow meter do you have now? Metal rotor? Orifice plate? Vortex street again?
It’s probably a differential pressure flow meter. Check the straight sections before and after it, and pay attention to the zero point under static pressure conditions. Another issue is to look at the factory calculation sheet to find out what the standard temperature and pressure values are there; they should match the standard conditions used in your actual calculations. If not, the differential pressure values will be different, and recalculation will be necessary
What other reasons do you have for thinking it’s not allowed? Compare one flow meter at each end? That kind of prohibition?

Vortex flow meters or differential pressure sensors can both be used; the key is to ensure that all of the chlorine is vaporized and exists in gaseous form
When asking questions like this in the instrumentation sector, no one can help you; they can only guess. You need to be specific and clear about the details – what type of flow meter? Work environment? Specific manifestations?
