Finished crude oil floating roof storage tank, heated to around 60 degrees. At atmospheric pressure. What type of level gauge is suitable for a storage tank equipped with a wave guide? For contactless radar, would a planar antenna with a high frequency of 80 G work? Will it be affected by oil and gas mixtures? Could crude oil accumulate on the waveguide and have an impact?
Actually, with an internal floating roof in place, you can use radar to measure the height of that internal floating roof; it’s not necessary to measure the liquid level. A pulse radar level gauge will suffice, without the need for guided waves.
