May I ask all the experts: the longest length of instrument signal cable I’ve used is 525 meters; it’s a 1*2*1.5 cable. I currently have over 30 points that are about 700 meters apart from each other. I’m not sure if using a wire with dimensions of 1*2*2.5 would be suitable The site features ordinary transmitters, with no special instruments.
The farthest distance I’ve ever measured was 560 meters, but now I have dozens of points where the distance is around 750 meters. Is there any way to resolve this? I don’t want to build a cabinet room on-site anymore
Using a 2.5 cable should work for this. Actually, a 1.5 cable should work as well. Actions speak louder than words; the best approach is to simply find a 800-meter-long cable, use it without any installation, and test it on-site. It’s not a big problem
As long as the cables and instruments meet the quality standards, there’s no problem! I’ve used Siemens pressure transmitters and over 900 meters of 2*1.5 cables; they’re working fine :)
Today’s transmitters can operate properly at around 18V
