In the manual for automatic control design in the petrochemical industry, why is a 2*1.5 mm wire rated as a 6-inch pipe? In actual field applications, 4-inch pipes are generally used; so do designers specify 6-inch pipes when creating designs? Do you have any friends who work in design firms? For wires of 2*1.5mm and 4*1.5mm, what size conduit do you use for routing them?
I haven’t seen any wire ducts of DN15; at least they start at DN20.
As I recall, 2*1.5mm uses a 4-inch pipe
We usually use DN20 pipes for 2*1.5 cables; for cables of other specifications, the pipe size should be selected according to the wire diameter specified in the product manual.
The choice of pipes that are smaller than those specified in the standards is mainly driven by cost considerations; after all, the total cost for DN20 and DN15 pipes increases significantly as the length of the piping system grows. However, the pipe diameters specified in the standards take into account heat dissipation during the operation of the cables
Generally, at least a 6-inch pipe is required; make sure it’s properly installed.
Different design firms have various design habits; some, in an effort to save costs, or because it’s what beginners do, design pipes with a DN15 diameter. However, clients are not very favorable to this approach. Firstly, it doesn’t result in significant cost savings, as the cost of galvanized pipes constitutes only a small portion of the total cost. Secondly, such an approach increases the variety and quantity of spare parts required, which is not appreciated by those responsible for maintenance or by management. If it’s DN20, it can be used in conjunction with electrical systems; for DN15, it can only be used by you personally. You need to have spare parts on hand in the inventory, such as galvanized pipes, plate-mounted connectors, explosion-proof hoses, gland fittings, and explosion-proof wiring boxes.
Considering factors such as cost-effectiveness and feasibility, it is feasible in terms of size, but the installation and the compatibility of the entire connection system are also taken into account.
