Can a 3x2x1.5 instrument cable pass through a 1/2NPT (F) cable connector? I forgot to consider this issue during the design phase; now that construction is about to begin, is there any solution?
It cannot be passed through; a 3/4 NPT or 3/4 G connection is required. The protective coating must be removed when passing the wire through the connector
Thank you. Does that mean that by simply removing the outer coating it’s possible to pass through a 1/2NPT (F) connection? Would doing that violate the regulations?
Understanding the type of sealing for NPT fittings means understanding whether the sealing requirements are being met or not
Does that mean that tightening it more will damage the core of the cable? It’s not an explosion-proof area now, so does it not need to be tightened too much?
:Lol, you need to check whether the outer diameter of the cable falls within the range allowed by the gland; if that’s not possible, try using an adapter
