Semiconductor laser gas analyzers are used to measure the oxygen content in acetylene gas; the zero gas is high-purity nitrogen. Should the calibration gas used within the measurement range be one with nitrogen as the balancing gas, or one with acetylene as the balancing gas?
It is not possible to choose acetylene as the balancing component; acetylene is a Class C gas with a very wide explosion limit, and for safety reasons it is not suitable to be used as a balancing gas for standard gases. Additionally, acetylene gas imposes special requirements and restrictions on the materials used for pipelines and valves
I agree with what you said on the second floor: it’s impossible to use acetylene as the balancing component, as acetylene belongs to Category C gases and has a very wide explosion range. The background gas for span gas in our company is nitrogen. The interlock value is 0.8%, and the gas content within the range is also around 0.8%.
Which manufacturer’s laser oxygen analyzer does your company use? Is it useful?
My family also uses Focus Technology products; there are also referral codes for other brands
Siemens, Siemens, products from Siemens; Mettler-Toledo also has them. I haven’t used them, so I don’t know how they are.
Mettler Toledo – we use the laser type, and it works very well; the only issue is that the lasers are quite expensive, costing over 300,000.
