There is currently a phosphorus yellow metering tank with dimensions of φ1500×3000. In this setup, liquid phosphorus yellow is located in the lower layer (phosphorus yellow solidifies when the temperature is below 40°C), while water is present in the upper layer at a temperature of 85–90°C. The tank is insulated using steam. It is now necessary to measure the liquid level inside the tank; top-loading is the only option available, as bottom-loading is not feasible. I have chosen a magnetic float level gauge with a transmitter for this purpose. However, if there is a malfunction in the steam insulation system, it will become impossible to measure the level once yellow phosphorus solidifies. Currently, an electric float level gauge is being used to achieve more accurate measurements. Do you control engineers think this is a reasonable approach? Is there a better option? Thank you!

Floats are relatively reasonable, but the phosphorus sludge that forms over time can stick to the measuring rod, requiring regular cleaning. We can also use capacitive level gauges, but if there is a lack of water above the storage tank, it may cause the PTFE insulation layer to be damaged.
