I have a question for all of you experts. The analysis of oxygen content in coal silos is a relatively simple measurement. A paramagnetic model was chosen for the oxygen content analyzer: EL3040 Magnos206, with a range of 0–3 mol%. Under normal conditions, the oxygen content is below 1%. Background gas composition: oxygen 2 mol% (maximum), nitrogen 100 mol%. Due to issues with the operating condition settings, the background gas is now: 2 mol% oxygen, 60 mol% carbon dioxide++, and 40 mol% nitrogen. Due to the diamagnetism of carbon dioxide, this table consistently shows negative values with a relatively large deviation. I would like to ask: are there any useful analyzers for measuring oxygen content under such operating conditions?

Most magnetic oxygen analyzers can perform a paramagnetic zero-point calibration using background gas; having the manufacturer carry out a new background gas calibration for the instrument should help restore normal operation. There is no need to replace the gauge, as the magnetoxygen analyzer works fine in such conditions; it is likely that the after-sales service staff from the gauge’s manufacturer lack the necessary skills or do not understand how to calibrate the gauge under special circumstances. ABB’s magnetic oxygen sensor is likely a product from the Hartman Brown company that was acquired in the past; you could try asking the instrumentation technicians at Sifu Mei Company – inviting them out for a meal privately might solve the issue.
