Install a tuning fork switch on the pipeline

There is a current application that requires the installation of a fork-type switch on the pipeline in order to detect whether there is fluid flowing through it. I have a few questions for everyone: 1. There are two pipe sizes available, DN25 and DN50. Can we simply use fork-type switches designed for these sizes? In other words, should we install the switches directly on the pipes by using equal-diameter tees, and then weld on 150mm flange ends, or do we need to use expansion tubes similar to those used with thermometers? If expansion tubes are used, could this result in insufficient filling of that section of the pipe, leading to inaccurate measurements? 2. When installing the switches on the pipeline, is it better to use vertical or horizontal pipes? 3. What is the appropriate position for inserting the fork-type switch into the pipeline? Since I couldn’t find any standard guidelines for these issues, I’m seeking advice from everyone
1. It is necessary to select the appropriate fork switch depending on the pipeline specifications. DN25 and DN50 are pipes of different sizes, so corresponding fork switches need to be selected. During installation, the flange can be welded directly to the equal-diameter tee for fixation, without the need for an enlarged pipe section. However, to ensure accurate measurement, it is recommended to choose a tuning fork switch that matches the pipe diameter. 2. When installing the fork switch, you can choose between a vertical tube or a horizontal tube depending on the specific circumstances. Vertical pipe installation is suitable for horizontal or inclined pipes, while horizontal pipe installation is suitable for vertical pipes. When choosing the installation method, ease of observation and maintenance, as well as operational convenience, are taken into account. 3. The fork switch should be installed upstream of the pipeline. Specifically, it is best to install it in areas where the flow rate of the medium is high, so as to ensure that the tuning fork can detect the flow of the fluid. Generally, being far enough away from the pump or other source of flow is a good choice for a location. .
