For 2500L and 5000L storage tanks with agitators, what is the minimum size of the opening required if a contactless radar level gauge is used? Are there any requirements as well for the pipe neck? Therefore, the standard DN25 diameter (25 mm in diameter) is clearly smaller than the minimum flange diameter of radar level gauges. Second question: 1. Use flange adapters or connectors with a larger diameter to convert the DN25 diameter to one suitable for radar level gauges. 2. Choose other types of non-contact level gauges, such as ultrasonic level sensors, laser level sensors, etc. These sensors may have fewer installation requirements.

The diameter of radar level gauges available on the market is all above DN50. The blind zone of radar level gauges ranges from 0.3 to 0.5 meters, and the maximum liquid level alarm value (HH) for small tanks may fall within this blind zone, rendering the gauge unusable in such cases.
DN25 is indeed too small; the minimum diameter should be determined based on the length of the pipe connection and the radar’s emission angle, to ensure that the radar does not hit the pipe connection and prevent measurement. If changing DN25 is not possible, a capacitive level gauge could be considered; consult the manufacturer to see if it is feasible

The length of the pipe section depends on the radar’s emission angle; the smaller the section, the longer it can be. A diameter of around 150 inches is generally a good choice
