Rosemount, pressure transmitter, 3144P. The on-site display shows 12.8 bar, while the DCS displays 2.1 bar. The range is the same on both the on-site device and the DCS. I would like to ask, where is the problem?
This situation may be caused by signal transmission issues; check whether the connection wires are damaged or loose, or it could also be due to calibration errors. It is recommended to perform on-site verification and recalibration of the pressure transmitter to ensure consistency between the signal output and what is received by the DCS system. At the same time, check whether the configuration settings of the DCS system are correct. If the problem persists, it may also be necessary to check whether there is a fault with the pressure transmitter itself. .
Is the range consistent? Was the current measured? And which value does the current ratio correspond to exactly?
It’s very likely that there’s an issue with the range setting; check whether the range units are correct. If there’s no problem, connect an ammeter in the circuit to check it.
It’s hard to say; the best approach is to use standard gauges for both on-site display and DCS calibration, so as to accurately determine where the problem lies.
First, confirm whether the field unit corresponds to the central control unit. Second, measure the circuit current to determine whether the problem lies with the gauge or the central control unit. Third, send a signal from a handheld controller at the field site and check the display value on the central control unit. Fourth, try replacing the card module
If it is checked that both the transmission signal and the instruments in the DCS are set to 4-20mA, then there is definitely an inconsistency in the range, or there are other settings related to the DCS module being used
The range settings for the instrument and the DCS are not consistent. You need to use the manual operator to check the instrument and determine what its range is; don’t rely on the nameplate, as the range may have been changed by someone else, and it won’t then correspond to the value indicated on the nameplate.
Is there a signal generator on site? Connect the instruments directly to the site to check whether the circuit current is accurate; if it is, then there is a problem with the section of the cable leading to the system. First, go to the cabinet and disconnect the negative cable to see if the screen of the instrument remains lit. Sometimes there are problems with the wires, such as breaks that cause short circuits; use a signal generator connected to the terminals to check again whether the current value matches what it should be in practice. If it does match, then it’s likely a problem with the cabinet components or the system settings, and further investigation is needed
