I. Installation requirements for guided wave radar level gauges: When installing a guided wave radar level gauge, it is necessary to ensure that the cable or rod does not come into contact with any internal obstacles throughout its range; therefore, facilities inside the tank such as ladders, limit switches, heating equipment, and supports should be avoided as much as possible. It should also be noted that the cable or rod must not intersect the feed stream. II. Selection of installation location for guided-wave radar level gauges 1. Fixed installation location for powdery materials: (1) Keep it as far away as possible from the discharge and feed ports. (2) The metal tank does not touch the tank walls or bottom throughout the entire range. (3) It is recommended to install it at 1/4 or 1/6 of the silo diameter, with a minimum distance from the tank wall of 1/10 of the measurement range. (4) The minimum distance between the cable-type or rod-type probe and the tank wall shall be ≥ 300 mm. (5) The bottom of the probe should be at a distance of ≥30 mm from the bottom of the tank. (6) The minimum distance between the probe and obstacles inside the tank is ≥ 200 mm. (7) If the bottom of the container is conical, it can be installed at the center of the tank top. 2. Installation location of liquid materials: (1) It can measure any medium with a dielectric constant of ≥1.8. (2) It is generally used to measure media with a viscosity of ≤500 cst that do not tend to adhere. (3) The maximum range of the rod-type radar can reach 6 meters. (4) It has a strong ability to penetrate steam and foam, so the measurement is not affected. (5) In environments where liquids have high foam, a single-rope guided-wave radar level gauge should be used for measurement. III. Installation method of guided wave radar level gauge: The guided wave radar level gauge can be connected using threads, with the thread length not exceeding 15 millimeters; it can also be installed on a short tube. If the diameter of the mounting stub is 2 to 6, the height of the mounting reel should be 100 mm (the shorter the thread and reel, the more stable the measurement). If the length of the short tube installed is large, ideally it should be divided into shorter sections, or a cable-type probe should be fixed at the bottom along with an insulated centering bracket to prevent the cable-type probe from coming into contact with the end of the short tube.
