After the crankshaft is normally removed, V-shaped clamps are used in the installation design between the bearing and the crankshaft; these clamps have hydraulic holes in them, and a regular hydraulic gun is used to apply pressure. When the desired pressure is reached, the clamps move outward naturally, allowing the bearing to be removed completely without affecting its ability to be used again.
