Class A indicates continuous operation of the device, while Class B means it is shut down but remains in operation for a continuous period of no more than 24 hours. Well, now comes the tricky part… How do you calculate this? As titled: Question 1: If a certain device was operated in Class A for 27 days and in Class B for 37 days today, and if there are no shutdowns tomorrow, will it be 28 days in Class A and 37 days in Class B, or 38 days in Class B? Question 2: In the event of a vehicle exit incident, is it 1 day or 0 days for Category A? In other words, should Category A be reset to zero for further calculation? Question 3: If driving exceeds 24 hours after getting out of the car, should both Category A and Category B counts start from 1? Question 4: If the device has never tripped since its first operation, for Category A it is 27 days; should Category B also be set to 27 days, 0, or not calculated at all?

It’s about assessing the quality of the device’s operation, right? Category A refers to situations where there has been no shutdown of the equipment since it was put into operation, indicating that the operators are highly skilled. A longer duration in Category B suggests that the equipment hasn’t had to be shut down for maintenance due to issues with the equipment or its design; many companies experience this situation. :o

We also evaluate long-term operation metrics, but we consider only unplanned shutdowns; as long as a shutdown lasts no more than 24 hours, it is not counted as an unplanned shutdown. It might be that the company has too many production facilities, which makes such assessments relatively simpler.
